10. Juno (2007)
Juno is a teenager who is facing an unplanned pregnancy. She doesn’t want to have an abortion, and is looking to put the baby up for adoption. She meets Mark and Vanessa, a couple who couldn’t conceive a child on their own. But things aren’t as simple and straightforward as they look.
9. The 40 Year Old Virgin
A 40 year old nerdy guy who has never “done it” is enough of a reason to laugh. But when there’s a whole movie about it, you can bet that it will turn out to be a great comedy. The 40 Year Old Virgin is the perfect choice for a slow Saturday evening when you aren’t going to go out.
8. Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
Heartbroken and in desperate need for a vacation, Peter travels to Hawaii to relax and sunbathe. Little does he know that Sarah, his ex-girlfriend and TV star, is staying in the exact same island hot spot with her gorgeous new boyfriend.
7. Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
The two famous stoners are on a journey to White Castle to have some delicious looking burgers. But trouble just keeps following them – they get arrested, Neil Patrick Harris steals their car, they ride on wild animals and many, many more.
6. The Hangover (2009)
Four buddies go to Vegas for a bachelor’s party, to celebrate the “last day of freedom” for one of them. When they wake up after a night of binge drinking, the future-to-be groom is gone, but they have a duck, a baby and a lion in their hotel apartment.
5. In Bruges (2008)
Hitmen Ray and Ken await orders from their authoritative boss in Bruges, Belgium. The weather is horrible, and Ray keeps complaining about how it is the last place on Earth where they should be at that moment. A great comedy with Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.
4. Shaun of the Dead (2004)
Shaun decides to turn life around, win back his ex-girlfriend and make up with his mother, and all these happen while London is crawling with zombies. This is a truly great British comedy about some pub-centered layabouts for whom the walking dead invasion is just something that interferes with their drinking time.
3. Finding Nemo (2003)
This Pixar/Disney production got the bronze medal in our top 10 funniest movies of the last decade. If you believe that animations are for kids, then you are wrong – dead wrong. Finding Nemo is a family movie, not a kids’ movie. It is about the adventures of Merlin, a single dad who is trying his best to raise Nemo, his only child. When Nemo disobeys his father’s overprotective advice and ends up in a dentist’s fish tank, Merlin starts a journey to find him.
2. Up (2009)
This animation is the second best comedy of the last decade, and quite a masterpiece from Pixar. Carl Fredricksen, a cranky 78 year old balloon salesman, had a life-long dream to visit the wilds of South America. One day he ties together a few thousand balloons to his home and embarks on his journey. His traveling companion, Russell, an 8 year old kid who was on his front porch by accident when the house “took off”, will prove to be a worthy partner in this unusual journey.
1. Snatch (2000)
The gold medal for the top 10 funnies movies of the last decade goes to Snatch (2000). Written and directed by Guy Ritchie, Snatch combines several stories of violent boxers, unscrupulous bookmarkers, Russian mobsters and clueless robbers and is sprayed with the traditional dark British humor. The cast is fabulous – Brad Pitt, Benicio del Toro, Dennis Farina, Jason Statham and many more make up for a great movie.
